The Peshawar Police have achieved significant success in their efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order in the city.
According to official statement issued here on Sunday, since launching a special campaign on August 27, the police have conducted successful operations, arresting numerous suspects and recovering stolen property, weapons, and ammunition.
The statement said that during the operations 77 suspects involved in street crime, robbery, theft, and other serious crimes were arrested, including 43 dangerous snatchers.
The force also recovered stolen valuables includes 15 motorcycles, 18 valuable mobile phones, three vehicles, one rickshaw, and cash worth lakhs of rupees.
During the operations and crackdown on anti social elements 580 wanted criminals were arrested for murder, attempted murder, and other serious crimes.
Police said that a large cache of weapons recovered, including 160 Kalashnikovs, 212 rifles, 18 Kalakovs, 40 shotguns, and 1515 pistols, it added and said that 200 kg of ice, 334 kg of hashish, 5 kg of heroin, and 2 kg of opium were seized in a crackdown on drug smugglers.
Capital police maintained that 245 cases were registered against individuals displaying weapons on social media, and 245 accused were arrested.
Besides, 10 cases were registered against individuals spreading obscenity and uploading immoral content on social media.
The Peshawar Police remain committed to maintaining law and order in the city and ensuring the safety and security of citizens, said capital police.
