Police arrest suspect for firing over money dispute

PESHAWAR: Police have arrested a man allegedly involved in firing outside a citizen’s house to intimidate him following a monetary dispute in the jurisdiction of Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station, officials said on Sunday. Acting on information received, DSP Yakka Toot Circle Noor Haider Khan, SHO Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station Shah Tariq Jamal, and ASI Israr Afridi, along with other police personnel, launched a prompt operation and arrested the accused on the spot. According to police, the incident stemmed from a financial dispute between the accused, Salman, son of Bawar, and the complainant, Ilyas, son of Zubair. During the altercation, the accused allegedly resorted to aerial firing outside the complainant’s residence in Rashid Garhi Mohalla Ajab Khan to intimidate and threaten him. Police responded immediately after receiving information about the incident and took the accused into custody. A pistol, believed to have been used in the firing, was also recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of Ilyas, and further investigation is underway, police said. Crime reporter
