Police on Friday carried out targeted search and strike operations in various parts of the cantonment division as part of efforts to maintain law and order and curb criminal activity, officials said.
According to police, the operation was conducted on the special directives of senior officers under the supervision of SP Cantt Abdullah Ihsan and DSP Peshtkhara Circle Umar Afridi.
The search operation was carried out in the jurisdiction of Peshtkhara police station, including areas around the airport, Customs Chowk and adjoining localities. Personnel of the Elite Force, local police, and women police took part in the house-to-house search.
Officials said the crackdown targeted criminal elements, illegal weapons, unregistered tenants and other suspects residing in the area without proper documentation.
During the operation, police recovered three pistols along with magazines and cartridges from the possession of suspects.
Police said that indiscriminate operations against illegal weapons, undocumented tenants and criminals would continue to ensure the safety of citizens and protect their lives and property.
