Police, CTD teams killed a target killer in an operation in Peshawar

A notorious target killer was killed during an exchange of fire with police in Khurasan-Camp area of Peshawar, SSP Operations said in a statement on Tuesday.
The area falls in jurisdiction of Police Station Khazana.
The SSP Operations Peshawar Lieutenant Commander (r) Kashif Aftab Abbasi said that the slain identified as Yasir, was involved in the case SHO Shakil Khan murder and conducted various other attacks on Intelligence Bureau (IB)’s officers.
The operation against the target killer was carried out early in the morning jointly by the teams of police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
Weapons, hand-grenade, and other explosive materials have also been recovered from the murdered assassin, said SSP Operations.
A cop during the operation also received a bullet but bulletproof vest saved his life.
The slain Yasir was the brother of accused Bilal, who had been involved in a number of cases in Punjab, Sindh, and Islamabad.
Bilal, known as most wanted target killer, had been killed during an operation conducted by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and police in Islamabad.
SSP Operation also added that the slain Bilal Sabit was also nominated in around 12 FIRs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), adding that included 7-ATA, target killing, ransom, and car-lifting
The killed Yasir and his gang was actively making plans of attacks on police and other security forces in the provincial capital, said SSP Operations in a statement.
Lieutenant Commander (r) Kashif Aftab Abbasi has said that there were other members of the gang, adding that preventing street crimes in Peshawar has been a major challenge for police.
He said that different steps have been taken to ensure safety of people and improve security of Peshawar.
SSP Operations Kashif Aftab warns strict legal actions against those police officers who had links with criminals in Peshawar.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that two police have been suspended for showing negligence.
