Police foiled arms smuggling bid, one held

Police on Sunday claimed to have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large cache of arms into the city, arresting a suspect linked to an inter-provincial arms smuggling gang.
According to a statement issued by Capital City Police, acting on a tip-off, SHO Pahari Pura Ali Adrash Mujmar intercepted a vehicle at Haji Camp Adda Service Road, seizing 57 pistols and magazines.
The suspect, Ayub Khan, a resident of Dargai Malakand, was arrested, and the vehicle used for smuggling was taken into custody.
A case has been registered against the suspect, and an investigation was underway to unravel the gang’s network and modus operandi.
