KHYBER
Resurgence of militancy has concerned tribesmen of Khyber and it is obligatory on the state to provide them security. Instead of adopting initiatives for economic prosperity of tribal, the concerned departments have engaged in usurping minerals in the district. Public gathering to be set up under the banner of the Political Alliance in Bara on August 12, 2023 will be a joint call for restoration of peace in Khyber.
The views were expressed by the chief of the Sayasi Ittehad(Political Alliance)Bara, Shah Faisal Afridi while addressing a press conference held here in Landi Kotal press clublast day.
Flanked by Sadiq Charagh,Zahid Afridi,Advocate Farhad Afridi,Aftab Shinwari and others he said that the tribesmen had bear unmatched sufferings for the last two decade in war of terror for restoration of lasting peace in the area but ironically militancy reappeared that was equal wastage of their sacrifices.
Like previously dozens of civilians had lost their lives in target killings in Bara in addition to scores of residents had received ransom calls that put a question mark on the efficiency of the security agencies, Afridi remarked.
He went on that the tribesmen were negated from the economic package and other incentives, promised them at the time of merging to keep them deliberately un-developed; that was injustice to them.
He called upon the tribal to join hands with them for seeking a durable peace that was their basic right.
To convey their grievance to the government, they were going to organize a public gathering in Bara that would be attended by a large number of people from across the Khyber and would be addressed by political elites of mainstream political parties from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Later on, the visiting political leaders distributed Bara Political Alliance public gathering invitations among the traders and tribal elders.
