ISLAMABAD : Supreme Court (SC) has remarked political interference has plagued the old management system of Pakistan railway.
The case regarding audit of railway gold club came up for hearing before a 3 members bench of SC presided over by acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial Friday.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked the political interference plagued the old management system of Pakistan Railway.
He directed that not only in railway but in every sector, transparency and honesty be ensured.
The court while expressing annoyance over non issuance of Railway Golf Club lease tenders directed the private audit company to complete the audit of the club as soon as possible.
Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan remarked the tenders of club lease could not be issued since the last two and half year. How much more time is needed by railway to issue tenders. The railway minister appointed advisor while by passing the secretary railway. He unleashed loot and plunder spree after assuming the office. He started giving honorary membership of the club. The old employees were laid off and new recruitments were made.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
