Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has stated political stability, continuity of sustainable policies vital for economic turnaround and progress in the country.
Speaking at the party’s youth convention here on Sunday, Shah termed the youth are precious assets of the country, which should be lifted up at sound footings.
He asked for pragmatic steps to ensure provision of all facilities and opportunities so that the youth can play their proactive role in economic and social development.
The ATP chairman criticised the successive governments for their inability in tapping the youth skills and aptitude.
He noted that a large number of qualified people have ready to leave the country. He added that increasing brain drain from Pakistan is highly worrisome.
Shah reminded that ATP has crafted a holistic roadmap for economic prosperity and development, in which a special program for youth development had been proposed.
The party leader claimed that if the party-designed plan would be implemented with true spirit then change will definitely come in the country. Furthermore, he said the party manifesto comprises provision of speedy economic and social justice.
It is the duty of the election commission of Pakistan and other relevant institutions that they should introduce reforms and code/procedures for ensuring public authority and power, he added.
Talking about the current political situation, the party chief said the election is the only solution to end the present political unrest.
He, however, demanded that all stakeholders should be consulted for reforms and creating a favorable environment and provision of level-playing field for all political parties before conducting national polls.
Furthermore, he maintained reforms are also imperative to ensure participation of all segments of the society in the electoral process.
Faiq urged the institutions and stakeholders to play their due role in ending the rising political tension and jointly frame a strategy to bring economic and political stability in the country.
Otherwise, he warned if the chaos will wrap up the fragile democracy in the country.
He added the foes may take advantage of the current political unrest in the country.
Therefore, he urged all political forces to be united to tackle economic as well as challenges that are being confronted by the country at internal and external fronts.
