The residents of Jehangira-Toro village have threatened to block main Peshawar-Nowshera-Islamabad road if the uncalled power breakdowns continue in the area.
If the situation remains like this, the people will be forced to block the road and get control over the grid station, said social worker and elders of the Jahangir Toro village during the protest demonstration and PESCO uncalled load-shedding.
They said that prolonged power breakdown has become a daily routine in Jehangira Toro village. People blocked Peshawar-Nowshera-Islamabad Road for all kinds of traffic and threatened to surround the grid station.
According to social activist Jahangir Toro, representative of public and social circles of the area and local authority, demanded of the provincial government to take immediate action in this connection and the people of Jehangira Toro are facing numerous problems due to daily power breakdowns and uncalled load-shedding.
They said that they have contacted the PESCO authorities but despite all requests, the un-schedule load-shedding and power breakdowns continue. They said that even for a minor fault, the electricity remains off for hours, but no one is asking about the lack of electricity.
Even though the people are sent huge electricity bills every month, in spite of this, long power breakdown has become a daily routine in extreme heat, the elders of the area said while addressing the gathering.
They said that children, old people, women, elderly people, especially patients are facing severe difficulties and due to the long breakdown of electricity, water has disappeared in the masajid and houses, the worshipers are facing severe difficulties.
Local government representative, social activist Jahangir Toro, has demanded immediate action against the concerned authorities from the Chief Executive Pesco Arif Saduzai in this regard, otherwise the public will block the Peshawar-Nowshera-Islamabad road for all kinds of traffic.
