Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has strongly condemned the arrest of Amjad Khan Afridi , provincial secretary information of the party, calling it an act of political victimization. In a statement released by PPP leader Gohar Inqilabi, it was asserted that the arrest of Amjad Khan Afridi just a day before Eid-ul-Adha was a blatant example of political revenge and exposes the hypocrisy and retaliatory politics of the PTI-led government.
“Amjad Khan Afridi is a true public representative and a defender of democratic values. Targeting him through retaliatory arrests is an attempt to silence public opinion,” said Gohar Inqilabi. He added that such actions were not only unconstitutional and undemocratic but also undermined the spirit of justice and fair governance.
The PPP demanded the immediate release of Amjad Khan Afridi and called for an end to politically motivated actions against opposition leaders.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to standing with its workers and leaders in the face of political repression.
