Information Minister Punjab Uzma Bukhari has said PPP is fearful of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz performance.
“Being scared of Maryam Nawaz performance PPP is giving purposeless statements. If ceasefire comes from other side then it is proper as we have not started this matter, she said this while talking to a private TV Channel here Wednesday.
If the allies give proper advice then why we will not take it. Catastrophe hit Punjab in the form of flood. You have no role in dealing with flood situation. You started politics on flood situation instead of helping Punjab government, she added.
She held “ you talk of farmer. Support price is not being paid to the farmer due to IMF program. Support price was not given to farmer in Sindh too. Wheat grows therein too. Repeatedly PPP personnel say farmer of Punjab devastated . Why was the farmer of Sindh not devastated.
She underlined pulling legs on every matter and dragging into administrative matters of the province is not proper.
Have we ever asked what is happening in Sindh, she questioned.
There is no confusion from our side and confusion is from other side, she added.
She went on to say flood hit Sindh but our government gave no political statement. Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif supported Sindh in flood.
Several projects in Sindh are running with the support of federation. There is no such program in Punjab which is running with the support of federal government.
It was said too why foreign assistance was not acquired. We don’t want to get foreign aid. Is there any compulsion. If Punjab can rescue 25 lac people and 21 lac live stock in flood then it can too rehabilitate them.
You should appreciate it that Punjab is doing all things out of its own resources and it is not extending hand before any one.
She said PPP is insistent that we should extend hand before others and get foreign aid. It cannot be done so. There is no problem to any one due to BISP. During Nawaz Sharif regime, legal status was accorded to BISP by federal government.
She remarked it is not necessary flood affectees be helped through BISP. There will be several among farmers who have nothing to do with BISP. They are not registered with BISP. How will we help them. Did you feel any need to sell BISP card during flood.
She observed ceasefire option is always there. We have not started this issue nor there is any guarantee from our side to end it. If PPP wants to work together as ally for flood affectees in Punjab then we are with them.
She remarked PPP is our allied party which is necessary for the sake of national stability . We will be happy if transport system in Sindh is rectified. PPP is ruling Sindh since 17 years. There should be competition on performance.
Certain people live in Punjab and do politics for the sake of some other province.
