ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has expressed grave concern over Practice Procedure Presidential Amendment Ordinance (PPPAO) SCBA has said PPPAO is deviation from long struggle of lawyers. SCBA expressed deep sorrow over issuance, time and manner of ordinance. Presidential ordinance is practically tantamount to repeal act-2023 which is not acceptable. Supreme Court (SC) had upheld practice and procedure law. Parliament and judiciary are on path of confrontation which will leave disastrous impact on democracy and supremacy of constitution. If judiciary and parliament don’t exercise restraint then the whole system can be derailed. ONLINE
SCBA demands of all stake holders to maintain sanctity of constitution, independence of judiciary and basic rights of people of Pakistan.
