President Arif Alvi rejects NAB employee appeal plea against his conviction


President Arif Alvi has rejected appeal plea filed by NAB personal against his conviction for leaking the official secrets for the purpose of corruption.

According to media reports President Arif Alvi said NAB should take action against other officers involved in the cases of leaking official secrets. It is regrettable that corruption was committed in NAB which is institution meant for eliminating corruption.
As per report Noman Iqbal, a grade-16 employee of NAB provided official secrets to an unauthorized person illegally. This employee was demoted to lower post for five years after his involvement in the matter was proved in the inquiry.
NAB employee had filed appeal plea with president Arif Alvi.
NAB Karachi conducted inquiry on the basis of source report. The secret record was found in the mobile phone of the appellant. The offence of this NAB employee was also proved from his conversation and documents in the forensic analysis of his phone.

NAB had recommended to launch punitive action. Inquiry committee declared the employee guilty.

Noman Iqbal filed appeal against his conviction to president Arif Alvi under NAB Employees services rules.

The president said the employee has not provided any solid reason against the decision. Five years PUNISHMENT is not enough for such persons. The punishment should have been more rigorous.
