I will my role to bring Balochistan at part with other provinces in development: PM


Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif has said Balochistan province is close to his heart and he will play his role to bring Balochistan at par with other provinces.

“federal and provincial governments will have to work hard for the development of Balochistan. It is not time for rest. People from the entire country are looking towards us. We are taking steps for containing inflation. We cannot shift burden to the people at any cost. Curbing price hike is the only motive behind our coming to power . We are ready to provide all resources for the development of Balochistan. Baloch youths have pinned high hopes on me. They love me. I will come upto their expectations. The previous government had suspended granting scholarship to the students from Balochistan. I will restart it, he said this while addressing review meeting on administrative situation of Balochistan here Saturday.

Secretary Balochistan gave detailed briefing to PM on progress in ongoing uplift projects in Balochistan and law and order situation.

PM was told that a major part of population is living below poverty line in Balochistan. The main reason behind it is far less opportunities for jobs. Government is working on different development projects in this regard. Preference is being given to locals in providing jobs in these uplift projects.

The participants of the meeting gave several proposals to the PM. It was proposed that a comprehensive package be announced for the entire province.

PM while thanking the members of provincial cabinet of Balochistan said development of Balochistan figures atop the priorities of government. The talented manpower of Balochistan is precious asset of the country. I will not rest content unless Balochistan is brought at par with other provinces in development.
The first right on the minerals resources of Balochistan is right of people of Balochistan.

He directed to ensure monitoring the ongoing development projects in the province saying the problem of shortage of electricity in Balochistan will be addressed through off the grid projects. Cooperation from Balochistan cabinet is needed by me in this regard.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Maulana Asad Mehmood, Nawabzada Shahzen Bugti, Israr Tareen, acting governor Balochistan Jan Muhammad Jamali, chief minister Balchistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bazenjo , other provincial ministers and senior officials.
