In a momentous development for Pakistan’s taekwondo community, President Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Lt Col (R) Raja Wasim Ahmed, has been elected as a Council Member of the Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU). The election was held during the ATU General Assembly in Kuching, Malaysia.
This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s growing stature within the international Taekwondo community. Lt Col (R) Raja Wasim’s induction into the ATU Council is a recognition of his tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to the development of Taekwondo in Pakistan. His presence in the continental governing body is expected to pave the way for greater representation and new opportunities for Pakistani athletes at the Asian and global levels.
Mr. Sang Jin Kim of South Korea was elected as the new President of the ATU, while Mr. Jung Heon Kim and Mr. Shadad Tali A Alamri were elected as Vice Presidents. The Pakistan Taekwondo Federation congratulates the newly elected leadership and expresses its confidence in their vision and dedication to the continued growth and development of Taekwondo across Asia.
