PESHAWAR
The volleyball Boys trials under Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Youth Talent Hunt Program will be commencing from February 21-22, 2023 at five different venues across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This was stated by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Coordinator for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and former international athlete Bahre Karam told media men here on Friday. He said after weightlifting, wrestling and hockey (Men) and Women (Hockey) the dates for the trials in five different Regions including Peshawar, Hazara, Mardan, Swat and Bannu have been announced.
He said the online register was closed on January 31, 2023 and now the trials scheduled has been announced wherein players in the age of 15 to 25 would take part in the open trials, followed by a team at each of the five stations would be announced and Volleyball League would be organized.
According to the schedule, the trials of volleyball players of Peshawar region will be held on February 21st and 22nd at University of Peshawar under the supervision of Directorate of Sports University of Peshawar and University and Agricultural Peshawar. The trials of Mardan Region will be held at Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Indoor Hall, Mardan on February 25-26, 2023.
He said the trials at Swat would be held at Government Postgraduate Jahanzeb College, Swat on March 2-3, 2023. The trials of Hazara region players will be held on March 5-6, 2023 at Committee Ground Haripur, while the trials of Bannu players will be held on March 9-10, 2023 at Bannu Sports Complex, Bannu.
The preparations have been completed, he said, adding, the Chairman of Higher Education Commission Islamabad Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, DG Sports (HEC) Javed Ali Memon, Head of Prime Minister’s Program Sheeza Fatima, Adviser to Prime Minister Amir Muqam, Vice Chancellor Peshawar University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees have extended all our support to him.
He said, Prime Minister’s Talent Hunt Program, hockey trials of both Boys and Girls have been postponed. He said the decision would be made to release new schedule
Peshawar (Sports Reporter) In connection with the Prime Minister’s Talent Hunt program, the national and provincial hockey trials and leagues have been postponed for ten days and a new schedule will be issued soon in this regard. Director of Sports Peshawar University Bahrkaram while talking to the media said that after the meeting of PHF and HEC, the new schedule of these trials and hockey league will be released after a week towards the regularly scheduled HEC.
He also lauded Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Professor Dr. Muhammad Idrees for his support in establishing Volleyball Academy. The construction of a volleyball academy has been started in the premises of the Directorate of Sports University of Peshawar, Bahre said. He said, with the efforts of Higher Education Commission Islamabad Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, DG Sports (HEC) Javed Ali Memon and Executive Director HEC are key in establishing a volleyball academy in Peshawar. He said the Volleyball Academy would have all the facilities of international standards. The construction of the Academy to be funded by HEC would cost Rs. 130 million and would be constructed within a record one year. There will also be facilities for sports and we will use it as an international gymnasium as well, Bahre Karam said.
