Program chalked out to construct bar rooms

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate has said that a comprehensive program of the construction of bar rooms throughout the province has been chalked out and would be included in the coming ADP that he said is in-fact a basic issue of lawyer community while we also feel ourselves duty bound to solve their other problems priority basis.
He however called upon them to strengthen hands of present KP govt in eliminating the menace corruption from the society so that the drive of Corruption Free Pakistan could be made a success story side by side with endeavors of providing cheap and speedy to the people.
He was talking to delegation of Timergara Bar Association that called on him at office Civil Secretariat Peshawar with its president-elect Salim Khan Advocate at the head and apprised him of certain problems and demands of the Bar including construction of Bar Chamber in the district headquarter.
Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Abdul Latif Yousafzia and Additional Secretary Finance Asmatullah were also present on this occasion. The delegation included Bar?s Finance Secretary Azizullah, President ILM Sher Hayat Khan, Rahimullah and Mohammad Ali advocates. The Bar cabinet appreciated steps of the KP govt especially its Jehad against corruption and improving performance of govt departments.
Muzaffar Said Advocate assured inclusion of Distt Bar Chamber at Timergara under CM?s umbrella scheme as well as early release of Rs 2 million to Tehsil Bar Wari that he announced during visit of the area. He said 4 mega schemes have been launched in law and judiciary sector this year including extension of bar room, library and consultation rooms in Peshawar costing Rs 200 million , bar rooms at Takhbai, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, and Mansehra costing Rs 313 million while it would be extended to more districts and then tehsils next year.
He said his govt wanted supremacy of law, merit and justice in the province at all cost. He said his govt wants to restore self respect of lay man and improve life standard of the masses especially the poor.
He said his party Chief Sirajul Haq waged Jehad for corruption?free Pakistan with sole aim to make it a real Islamic welfare state. He continued that corruption was infused in blood of rulers and they wanted to plunder public money with both hands while people to just see it helplessly.
However he said that the era of loot was over and even a most powerful person in our govt cannot think of stealing or wasting meager chunk of resources of the hard earned money of the people as, he maintained, strict laws and punishments have been introduced in this regard.
He said his coalition govt is introducing new Whistle Blower law wherein a citizen identifying looted money will get share after its recovery and hence the bigger amount pinpointed would entitle the informer to get the bigger reward.
However severe punishment has also been suggested for those giving false or misleading information against opponents.
Muzaffar Said Advocate asked the lawyer community to extend helping hand in realization of the improving standard of education especially Tameer-e-School program so that our innocent children in primary schools can be saved from studying on floors without roofs and do not lack basic facilities like furniture, toilets, drinking water and boundary walls.
He said this revolutionary step will not only end the increasing trend of drop outs of children but they will instead become serious for going to schools. Similarly he said that more attention was also been focused on technical and higher education, health, agriculture, energy, municipal services and other sectors to increase productivity and enable the KP people join the national mainstream with dignity.
Finance Minister assured sympathetic consideration on the Bars? rest of demands. He assured that endowment fund for lawyers were also being established so that they did not need requesting the govt every year for grants any more. He assured that provincial govt would continue extending financial support to lawyers with the only condition of its transparent use and due audits. He accepted invitation of Bar?s visit in the earliest.
