Commissioner Mardan Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai visited District Headquarters Hospital Mardan. He reviewed the ongoing work on OPD block, mosque, hostels and diagnostic block being completed under the development package number three of the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner Mardan Muhammad Fayaz Khan Sherpao also accompanied him. The Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Javed Iqbal and C&W officials while briefing the Commissioner Mardan said that under package three of DHQ Hospital, the work of expanding the hospital to 600 beds at a cost of two billion 60 crore rupees.
He was informed that 80 to 85 percent of the construction work on the ongoing facilities under this package has been completed, so we are facing the problem of funds for the remaining work, which requires a total Rs. 40 to 50 crores.
Commissioner Mardan Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai made a detailed inspection of the ongoing development and construction work.
He said that DHQ Hospital is located in the center of Mardan city and there is a lot of rush of patients from within and outside the city, so it is necessary to complete the ongoing work under package three as soon as possible.
The medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Javed Iqbal emphasized connecting the two blocks of the DHQ hospital through early construction of the link bridge on Shamsi Road as soon as possible so that the transfer of the patients from the old block to the private rooms becomes easier.
He said that more than 80 percent of the work of package three has been completed since long and if the funds are not provided on time, there is a fear of damage to the installed machinery and building.
Commissioner Mardan assured that the provincial government will be approached to provide necessary funds for the completion of package three of the hospital as soon as possible.
He expressed hope that there will be positive progress in this regard soon. He also reviewed the facilities provided to the patients in the hospital and directed the hospital administration to ensure maximum facilities to the patients.
Commissioner Mardan Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai along with Deputy Commissioner Mardan Fayaz Sherpao also inspected the price monitoring desks established by the district administration in the markets of Mardan city.
He directed the staff on duty in the monitoring desks to take immediate action on the complaints of the customers regarding the rates.
