PTI appeal plea against appointment of counsel in Nov 26 protest case accepted

ISLAMABAD: District and Sessions Court Islamabad has accepted appeal plea filed by PTI against appointment of state counsel in November 26 protest case. District and Sessions Court Islamabad has approved appeal plea of PTI against trial court decision for appointing state counsel in case no 976 registered in police station Ramna. The court nullified trial court decision regarding appointment of state counsel. Additional district and sessions judge Aamir Zia announced the decision on PTI appeal. Appeal was filed by PTI against the appointment of state counsel. Judicial magistrate Ahmad Shahzad Gondal had appointed state counsel due to absence of counsels of the accused persons. On the other side Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad distributed copies of challan among the accused persons in the case of alleged recovery of explosive material from PTI leader Rauf Hassan and social media activist Rauf Janjua. Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain of ATC heard the case. The hearing of the case was adjourned till July 28. The accused will be indicted in next hearing. Case is registered against PTI leaders in police station CTD. Online
