PTI cheers second phase of KP LB polls’ results

Results of 50 Tehsil Councils announced, PTI leads with 25 seats, JUIF 7, PMLN secures 4
ISLAMABAD
Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against all odds, grabbed a clear lead in second phase of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) local body polls, with media reports revealing PTI has won 25 seats till latest reports whereas Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has clinched 7 seats.
The provisional results of 50 Tehsil Councils seats were announced on Thursday by the returning officers according to which Pakistan Tahrik Insaf has emerged largest political party with 25 seats followed by Jamiat Ullema Islam-Fazal, four by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and seven were bagged by independent candidates.
The results of 15 Tehsil Council seats are awaited till 8pm.
According to provisional consolidated results, PTI has clinched victory in Tehsil Councils Babuzai, Barikot, Kabal, Mata, Bahrain, Khwazakhela in Swat, Batkhela, Dargai, Bazai in Malakand, Alpuri, Poran, Besham in Shangla, Adenzai, Balambat, Lal Qilla, Khail in Lower Dir, Wari, Larjam in Dir Upper, Mastuj, Mulkhow Torkhow in Upper Chitral, Chitral City, Darosh in Lower Chitral, Lower Tanawal in Abbottabad and Ogi Mansehra.
Similarly, JUIF clinched seven seats including Uper Orakazai, Miranshah North Waziristan, Charbagh Swat, Timergara Dir Lower, Judbah Torghar, Ronalia Lower Kohistan and Kanaila Upper Kohistan.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has won four seats including Chakaisar Shangla, Kalkot Uper Dir, Lora Abbottabad and Mansehra City.
Jumat Islami grabbed two seats at Samarbagh Dir Lower and Barawal Dir Upper.
Two seats at Martung Shangla and Munda Lower Dir was bagged by Awami National Party.
Independent candidates clinched seven seats including Razmak North Waziristan, Sarowka, Daraband Mansehra, Hasanzai, Dour Mera, Pathan Lower Kohistan and Seo Upper Kohistan.
Qumi Watan Party and Rah e Haq Party Pakistan bagged on seat each at Hasband Baba in Uper Kohistan and Lower Orakzai respectively.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday congratulated PTI KPK for the ‘overwhelming’ win and maintained that results showed people of KP had ‘rejected traitors’.
“Congratulations of CM Mehmood Khan and our PTI team for their overwhelming success in Phase 2 of KP LG polls,” PM Imran wrote in his tweet.
“People of KP have emphatically rejected the traitors who sold out to foreign masters. This is an early warning to all traitors of what awaits them in their constituencies,” he further warned the dissident lawmakers and opposition of alleging them of being ‘traitors’.
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said KP LG polls’ results were a testimony that nation stand by PM Imran Khan’s side. “Clear victory of PTI in second phase of KP LG polls reflects that nation stands with its courageous leader,” Asad wrote in his twitter statement.
“Now it’s not about [the outcome of] no confidence motion [against PM Imran Khan], but about people of Pakistan either deciding their [bright] future or standing with those who sold their conscience,” Asad further wrote.
Minister for Information and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, while reacting to results said that people of Pakistan were voting for PTI’s narrative. “Wasn’t there any inflation in KPK?” asked Fawad Chaudhry, adding that “Hence proved that people of Pakistan are voting for [PTI] narrative,”.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farukh Habib said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan swept the local government elections with the vote of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a tweet, Farukh said that stooges of external powers got the first result of public no confidence.
The media should run these results and tell that the people have wiped out the “gang of thieves” from their former strongholds, he said.
The minister tagged a copy of unofficial results of the KP local government elections which showed PTI winning 32 seats, independents 12, JUI-F 7, PML-N 4 and PPP only 1.
