The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan should not be taken serious as he takes U-turns on their decisions, adding that PTI resignation from provincial assemblies would save the nation.
He made these remarks while addressing a seminar organized by the Pukhtoon Students’ Federation (PSF) in University of Peshawar (UoP).
Aimal Wali said that elected representatives should be given their due powers, adding that countries’ economic, foreign and internal policies should be the mandate of parliament.
He said restoration of peace was the major concern of the province and no compromise would be made on it, adding that peace and stability of the country linked with Afghanistan and both countries could not move forward with maintaining peace and tranquility.
ANP provincial president maintained that its party workers have rendered sacrifices for peace against terrorism.
The 18th constitutional amendment is the achievement of the ANP and PPP regime, he said.
KP has been deprived of their rights for years, he said and alleged the PTI government in the province has taken unprecedented loans from foreign banks.
He said that education is compulsory for both men and women but we have always been kept away from education in the name of Islam.
“Those who want to keep our girls away from education want to push the Pakhtun nation into the age of ignorance,” he added and said that ANP leadership will not take a single step back from their struggle for the rights of their people.
