The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) joint parliamentary party on Monday condemned recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of security personnel and civilians.
The meeting was also attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister reiterated its commitment to the fight against terrorism, while also addressing concerns over the health of PTI’s founding chairman, Imran Khan.
The PTI parliamentary party expressed profound condolences to the families of the martyrs and vowed to continue the nation’s unified struggle against terrorism.
The meeting expressing deep concern over the lack of transparency and updates on party founding chairman condition and stressed that the growing anxiety among the public regarding Khan’s health must be addressed, demanding immediate access to medical care and the resumption of meetings with his doctors.
The party reiterated its demand for Khan’s prompt release, calling it a matter of urgent importance for the nation’s well-being.
The meeting also welcomed the dialogue between the CM KP and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aimed at resolving the province’s ongoing challenges.
However, it urged the federal government to immediately clear all pending financial dues to KP, particularly the National Finance Commission (NFC) share, Non-Project Assistance (NPA), and the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) dues.
The PTI called on the federation to fulfill its constitutional duties to ensure the timely delivery of services to the province.
The party paid tribute to the sacrifices of the tribal districts, emphasizing that the losses endured by the people in these areas would not be forgotten.
The meeting called for the immediate rehabilitation and compensation of families affected by the severe weather conditions in Tirah Valley. It also reiterated support for the Khyber Jirga’s decisions and demanded that all concerned institutions work towards lasting peace and resolution of the issues facing the tribal districts.
In a strong political stance, the meeting resolved to intensify the party’s street movement, particularly for the peaceful shutter-down and wheel-jam strike scheduled for February 8.
The PTI leadership firmly asserted that the public mandate had been “stolen” on February 8, and that the people would peacefully protest against the injustice by voluntarily closing their shops.
The PTI also condemned the continued arrest of party workers in Sindh and Punjab, as well as the ongoing raids on their homes. The meeting characterized these actions as fascist tactics, incompatible with democratic values, constitutional norms, and fundamental human rights.
