KARACHI: Relations between the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have soured after the former demanded making the purported deal struck between the JI and the Sindh government public. Addressing a press conference at Insaf House, Karachi on Saturday, PTI Karachi division office-bearers also showed to media men the documents which they claimed were proof of an agreement reached between the two parties. PTI Karachi General Secretary and member Sindh Assembly (MPA) Arsalan Taj Ghumman said that the provincial government had offered concessions to the JI. “Now the party has become a B team of the Sindh government,” he alleged. Former PTI MNA Faheem Khan said that JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman had made the seat of mayor a matter of ‘life and death’. He said PTI had no objection to an alliance between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the JI, but Hafiz Naeem should stop levelling baseless allegations against the PTI’s high command. DNA
