PESHAWAR
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader from Peshawar and former lawmaker Arif Yousif has reject the recent delimitation of constituencies by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Peshawar and called for the restoration of provincial assembly seat in the provincial capital.
He said that delimitation conducted by the ECP deprived Peshawar from a Provincial Assembly seat and termed the whole exercise of delimitation and digital census in the district a “ conspiracy” “unfair” and biased.
Arif Yousif, former member of the provincial assembly and on PTI ticket and labour wing provincial general secretary told a presser here on Monday that his party will go to every extent to restore the lost provincial assembly seat.
He rejected the recent digital census of Peshawar and said that it will impact on the job quota and development funds, adding that according to the 2017 census, the population of Peshawar was more than 4.3 millions, but in the recent digital census held after five years, the population of Peshawar showed a slight increase and it jumped to over 4.7 millions.
Arif Yousif said that there are reservations about the results of the digital census, the population of Peshawar was not properly counted during the census, it is the duty of political leaders and workers from Peshawar to stand against this injustice and raise their concerns.
