PESHAWAR: Former spokesperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and senior lawyer Moazzam Butt has said that despite PTI being in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, governance appears to be driven largely by bureaucracy, raising concerns over performance and decision-making. In a statement, Moazzam Butt said the prevailing situation has led to questions regarding the effectiveness of the provincial government and its policies. He noted that the strategy adopted by the KP government and PTI for the release of party chairman Imran Khan has so far failed to yield the desired results. While acknowledging that the decision regarding Imran Khan’s release rests with the courts, he said public support and pressure could help expedite the process. The senior lawyer advised Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi to avoid confrontational politics and instead adopt a policy of reconciliation and engagement with all stakeholders. He stressed the need for restoring communication channels with the military leadership, suggesting that improved coordination could contribute to political and administrative stability in the province. Moazzam Butt further said that the current political challenges require serious and prudent decision-making to ensure better governance and effective resolution of public issues. DLP Report
