Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that Imran Khan’s sister was present when the PTI founder underwent a medical examination, asserting that no political statement had been issued by the government regarding his health.
The Information Minister said that the government had presented the facts before the nation from time to time and had carried out all relevant matters transparently in accordance with the directions of the honourable court.
Attaullah Tarar questioned who had gathered people in groups outside Shifa Hospital and who held a press conference in what he described as a violation of the court’s orders.
He said the court had issued clear directions that the matter would not be politicised, but the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had violated those orders.
The minister alleged that Imran Khan’s sister and his political party had acted in violation of the court’s directions, adding that the PTI had contradicted its own undertaking by refusing to comply with the court order.
Attaullah Tarar further said that the Punjab Bar Council and Pakistan Bar Council had announced their dissociation from what he termed PTI’s political propaganda.
He said the bar councils had warned that their names should not be used for political purposes and had clarified that any individual statement by a member had no connection with the respective councils.
The Information Minister said that Imran Khan’s treatment had never been stopped and that he had continued to receive medical care. He urged that the matter should not be politicised.
He reiterated that the PTI had committed a violation of the court’s orders by politicising the issue.
