ISLAMABAD(INP): Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad, Tariq Masood Yaseen has said that in order to transform a prosperous and vibrant civilized society, the citizens are needed to come forward and contribute in getting poverty reduced and sufferings of poor, needy people and neglected segment of society minimized.
He stated this while addressing on the occasion of 20th Centennial Installation ceremony of first ever elected lady Governor of District 305-N2 Lions Clubs International, Lion Sittara Satwat and her cabinet held here on Sunday. Beside a large number of Lion delegates from all over Pakistan prominent social and human rights activists, members of civil society and persons with disabilities were present on the occasion.
Tarqi Masood Yaseen said that the teaching of our religion and great prophet (S.A.W.W) is also directs us to serve the humanity without any discrimination of Religion, cast, creed, colour, gender and region.
The renowned Drama Artist, Host and Director Saania Saeed emphasized the society and the government that the persons with disabilities should not be sidelined and ignored rather they should have the equal opportunities to earn for their livelihood. “We need to have a proactive national action plan to engage persons with disabilities in the socio economic development”, she suggested.
