Punjab CM welcomes Sikh pilgrims on Vaisakhi

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended a warm welcome to Sikh pilgrims arriving in Pakistan for the Vaisakhi Festival, assuring them of full hospitality, security, and facilitation.
In her message, she said Vaisakhi reflects joy, love, and harmony, adding that it is a matter of pride for Punjab to host Sikh pilgrims on their sacred land. She stated that comprehensive arrangements have been made, including transportation, accommodation, meals, and enhanced security. She further highlighted that for the first time, air-conditioned marquees, improved residential facilities, and luxury transport have been provided for visiting pilgrims.
Meanwhile in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with the Iranian delegation as part of the ongoing Islamabad talks.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Iranian side was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly, accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The Prime Minister appreciated Iran’s participation in the talks and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its mediating role to promote regional and global peace and stability.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Pakistan reiterated its position as a facilitator of dialogue, aiming to support meaningful diplomatic progress in the ongoing Iran-US engagement hosted in Islamabad.
