Punjab govt withdraws notification regarding jail trial in GHQ attack case

Punjab government has withdrawn notification regarding jail trial in GHQ attack case. Hearing of GHQ attack case will take place on October 01 and PTI founder will participate through video link.
Hearing of all 12 cases related to May 9 was adjourned till October 01.
The court ordered for arranging video link participation of PTI founder in jail on October 01.
Judge Amjid Ali Shah of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) heard the case. Summons notice in respect of 3 witnesses were issued for October 01 in GHQ attack case.
The court said the appearance of the three witnesses be ensured in the court.
The court said copies of challan in 11 cases of May 9 will be distributed to PTI founder Imran Khan on October 01.
Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will participate from Lahore Jail on video link. Jail trial in GHQ attack case was lingering since 3 months.
As per media reports, summons of all the accused have been issued for October 01 and orders have been issued to ensure attendance of all accused persons on October 01.
Summon has been issued to KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gull and Kanwal Shauzab did not appear in the court despite issuance of their arrest warrants.
The court had issued arrest warrants of 14 accused persons due to sentence awarded by Faisal Abad court.
Legal proceedings has been started to declare Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gull, Kanwal Shauzab proclaimed offenders.
The home department notification regarding cancellation of jail trial of GHQ attack case was presented in the court.
Counsels for PTI founder gave application for providing home department notification.
Government prosecutor presented notification in the court.
Hearing of GHQ attack case was adjourned till September 19.
The hearing of other 11 cases of May 9 incident was adjourned till October 11.
