Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Forests, Wildlife, Environment and Climate Change, Pir Musawar Khan, has strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment of Special Assistant Sohail Afridi and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers by Punjab Police outside Adiala Jail.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Pir Musawar criticized the Punjab government for what he described as undemocratic behavior, claiming that PTI leaders, including Imran Khan’s sisters, were not being allowed to meet the incarcerated party founder.
“The disrespectful behavior of Punjab Police toward members of the KP cabinet is unacceptable,” he said.
He accused the Punjab administration, led by Maryam Nawaz, of undermining democratic values and operating out of fear of PTI’s public support.
“Imran Khan remains the most popular public leader in the country, and attempts to isolate him reflect the panic within the federal and Punjab governments,” Musawar stated.
The advisor warned that if the alleged harassment of PTI leaders continues, the party may stage a protest sit-in outside Adiala Jail.
He reiterated that despite political pressure and legal challenges, Imran Khan continues to enjoy public support, and the efforts to marginalize him will not succeed.
