PESHAWAR
Provincial chairman Qaumi Watan Party QWP), Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has called for maximum focus on the development of backward federating units to bring them at par with developed one.
Addressing a public meeting in Tehsil Tangi on Friday, he said that it is the policy and responsibility of the state to give priority to backward provinces in development schemes to put them on the track of progress and development.
He also expressed reservations over the recent digital census, saying that according to statistics out the population of our province was estimated at 44 million, but it is being shown less, which could not only decrease our share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award rather will also bear negative impact on our representation in the National Assembly.
Therefore, he urged the provincial government to play its due role in highlighting this crucial matter.
Commenting on the prevailing political situation, Sikandar Sherpao held the leadership of PTI responsible for it and accused it for pushing the country to political instability.
