At least four more people died in different rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
As many as two people were killed as torrential rain wreaked havoc in Landi Kotal on Friday night. The deluge, caused by the rain, washed away a car carrying three people.
While the bodies of two persons were fished out, search for the third one was underway till the filing of this story. it reported that a child was killed while several others were injured after the roof of a house caved in in Landi Kotal due to rain.
The incident took place in Zakha Khel Alacha area. Several other incidents of roof and wall collapse were also reported, while matriculation students faced difficulties in reaching the examination centers.
As many as 30 people have been killed while 85 have been injured in different incidents of roof and wall collapse in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to rains since March 25.
According to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), there are 20 children among the dead, while the remaining are five men and five women. On the number of people injured, the report has said that there are 38 children, 36 men and 11 women.
It has been informed that so far 140 homes have been either partially or completely destroyed. “Out of these, partial damage has been caused to 115 homes while 25 homes have been completely destroyed.
