Raza assures welfare efforts for overseas Pakistanis

Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), reiterated his resolve to facilitate and provide relief to overseas Pakistanis and their families with enhanced efforts and dedication.
He was speaking in a simple ceremony while disbursing a cheque of Rs.15 million to the father of late Farid S/o Ghulam Farid who died while working in Doha Qatar.
The claim was recovered from his employer by the Recovery Wing of OPF after hectic efforts.
It is mentioned here that OPF has so far recovered death claims of deceased overseas Pakistanis amounting to Rs 7.41 billion so far and disbursed to their 9477 families accordingly.
During 2023-24 alone, an amount of Rs.809.32 million has been recovered and paid to the deceased families of overseas Pakistanis, whereas up to September 2024, Rs.157.32 million were recovered and disbursed to 56 families on this count.
The Chairman, OPF further said that money is not an alternative to life but some relief for the families of the deceased to minimize their financial sufferings.
On the occasion, Syed Qamar Raza extended his warm wishes for the safety of all overseas Pakistanis working in various parts of the world and assured continued welfare efforts by OPF for the facilitation of overseas Pakistanis and their families.
