RCCI holds awareness session on WeBOC


RAWALPINDI(INP): An awareness session on Web-Based One Custom System (WeBOC) was held at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to abreast the business community, importers and exporters about the salient features of the WeBOC.
The session was presided over by representatives from the State Bank and Customs including Syed Muhammad Nadeem Senior Joint Director, Furkan Ahmed Assistant Director, Zohra Hanif Maab Joint Director, Waheed Akram Butt  Deputy Director and Tariq Mahmood Assistant Chief Manager explained the important features of the WeBOC like increase customs efficiency and efficient deployment of resources, minimize clearance time at port, minimizing customs processing Time, reduced cost of doing business, less clearing/handling charges, better cash flows, paperless and single window customs operations, transparency and integrity, correct revenue realization, cargo information.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Amer Iqbal, President RCCI lauded the State bank and Customs team for bringing in the technologically advanced systems for the benefit of business community.
He said that Custom Department should establish facilitation desks for achieving better results and give massive awareness to the businessmen.
RCCI President said that local importers and exporters have some serious reservations about custom procedures which could be lessen by easing these regulations and procedures.
Senior Vice President Rashid Waien, Vice President Asim Malik, members of the executive committee and a large number of traders attended the session.
