ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain has announced significant changes to the Hajj policy, aimed at providing a hassle-free experience for pilgrims where revamped policy introduces key reforms to the selection process for Muavineen, who assist pilgrims during their sacred journey. Minister for Religious Affairs stated in an interview with Radio Pakistan’s current affairs program that from now on, Muavineen who wish to perform Hajj will be required to finance their journey. Hussain stressed that Muavineen will now be mandated to accompany pilgrims throughout their entire Hajj journey, thereby providing enhanced support and guidance to ensure a smoother and more spiritual experience for all pilgrims. Salik said that a team of top medical professionals will be accompanying pilgrims to provide high-quality healthcare services throughout the Hajj journey, ensuring their health and well-being are prioritized. Regarding accommodations, Hussain explained that pilgrims in Madinah will be housed in buildings situated within the Markazia, offering convenient access to holy sites just a 5 to 10-minute walk away.
