Repatriation of illegal Afghan immigrants underway

Repatriation of illegal Afghan nationals is in progress and last day 3345 Afghan citizens returned to the country through Torkham crossing, official informed.
The immigration official in Torkham said that approximately 452 Afghan families residing in various cities and districts of the countries were deported to Afghanistan on Sunday.
He added that after necessary documentation in the transit camp in Landi Kotal or immigration office in Torkham, the deportees were sent back to their country.
As per Home and Tribal Affair department, government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in last 13 days as many as 5072 families comprising 46987 illegal Afghan citizens have returned to Afghanistan via Torkham border.
Meanwhile, a number of charity donor organizations and local philanthropists have set up their makeshifts outside the transit camp and in Torkham to serve the home return Afghanis besides government facilitation in the transit camp.
They provide food, water and juices to the repatriated families and gifts and sweets to their children.
It is to be stated here that after the expiring deadline, 31 March 2025, the government asked the unlawful Afghanis residing in Pakistan to return back to Afghanistan.
