Renowned religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Nadeem Al-Mahmoudi on Monday said that religious seminaries were the fortresses of Islam and modern educational institutions were the need of the country.
He said that religious seminaries have an important role in an Islamic society in increasing the literacy rate in the country besides educating the masses in the light of the Islamic teaching.
He expressed these views while addressing the ceremony of reciting the Quran and memorizing Bukhari Sharif and Dastarbandi at Jamia Darul Salam Musab bin Umeer in Mardan.
Former Provincial Minister Hafiz Akhtar Ali, Maulana Gul Amin, Chairman of Neighborhood Council Baghdad-3 Mufti Irfanuddin and other scholars were also present on the occasion.
He noted that anti Islamic forces across the globe were active against Islam that their nefarious designs could only be countered by forging unity among the ranks of Muslim Ummah and by bringing all the religious scholars at one page for the survival of the nation, protection of the religion and supremacy of Islam in the world.
He said that in order to break the negative and false propaganda of the West about Islam, the real and true image of Islam should be presented.
On the occasion he congratulated the students and teachers and said that religious schools were playing a proud role for the promotion of Islam. “In order to understand our full religion, we need to fully follow the Qur’an, Sunnah and hadiths.”
The participants of the event emphasised that every Muslim child should have to memorise the Qur’an for understanding of the religion.
