Romania has secured $500 million for natural gas infrastructure, Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan said in a Facebook post after a meeting in Washington with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, which was also attended by Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare.
‘In Washington, together with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, we secured $500 million for the development of the national natural gas transport infrastructure, through a World Bank Group – Ministry of Finance – Transgaz agreement.
Together with my colleague, Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare, we had a substantial dialogue at the US Department of Energy on how to transform the strong partnership we already have with the United States into as many real advantages as possible for Romania: investments, stability and lower gas and energy prices for Romanians.
I thank my counterpart Chris Wright for the concrete support in the development of energy projects in Romania,’ Ivan wrote.
A ministerial delegation led by Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare is participating this week in the spring meeting of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, in Washington DC, United States of America.
