A grand ceremony was held at the office of the District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber, where financial assistance cheques were distributed among the families of police martyrs and injured personnel who served in various operations across the region.
Under the Police Martyrs Package, a total of Rs 103 million was distributed to 11 families of martyred personnel, including those who laid down their lives during their service in the former Khasadar Force.
The assistance was presented as a tribute to their immense sacrifices for the nation. A profound sense of both grief and pride was visible among the families, who expressed gratitude that the sacrifices of their loved ones had been duly acknowledged.
During the ceremony, cheques of Rs 100,000 each were also distributed among five police personnel who sustained injuries in different terrorist incidents. Additionally, the family of a martyred member of the former Khasadar Force received a cheque of Rs 3 million.
Addressing the gathering, DPO Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal paid glowing tribute to the fallen heroes, calling them the brave sons of the soil whose sacrifices ensured peace and security in the country. He assured the families that the Khyber Police would stand by them at all times and that their welfare would remain a top priority.
The families of the martyrs expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the police department’s support and reaffirmed their own commitment to the nation, stating their readiness to make any sacrifice for the country if needed.
