SACM food visits Mardan wheat godown

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Food, Dr Muhammad Israr Khan visited the government wheat warehouse in Mardan, to review the quality of stored wheat and assess storage and management arrangements, said a handout. During the visit, officials of the Food Department briefed the special assistant on wheat stocks, warehouse capacity, storage facilities, safety measures and overall administrative affairs. Dr Israr conducted a detailed inspection of the quality and quantity of the stored wheat, the storage system and preservation arrangements.
Expressing satisfaction over the condition of the wheat stocks and the management of the facility, he directed the relevant officials to further strengthen storage arrangements and ensure modern, efficient and transparent management of government wheat reserves.
Speaking on the occasion, the special assistant said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was taking practical measures to ensure the safe preservation of government wheat stocks. He said effective monitoring and modern storage practices were essential not only for protecting national resources but also for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of quality wheat and affordable flour to the public.
Dr Israr added that under the directives of the Chief Minister, the capacity of the Food Department was being continuously strengthened to improve storage management and service delivery. He reiterated that the provincial government was utilising all available resources to ensure the timely provision of quality wheat and affordable flour to the people.
Israr also directed Food Department officials to maintain regular monitoring of wheat quality, transparency in stock management and strict compliance with safety protocols to safeguard public resources and protect consumers’ interests.
