Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif on Tuesday strongly condemned the “mysterious disappearance” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed, calling it a deeply disturbing and unacceptable incident.
In a statement issued here Barrister Saif expressed serious concern over the situation and revealed that the Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur has taken strict notice of the incident, ordering an immediate investigation.
“The disappearance of Sanam Javed is a clear violation of the Constitution and the law,” he said, adding that such extrajudicial actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Calling Sanam Javed a “valuable asset” of PTI, KP government spokesperson stated that her only “crime” appears to be her unwavering support for PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He further noted that she had already endured significant hardships in the past.
It is pertinent to mention here that an FIR has been registered at the Sharqi Police Station regarding the alleged abduction of PTI activist Sanam Javed near the Civil Officers’ Mess in Peshawar.
According to the complaint, filed by her friend Hira Babar, the incident occurred late Monday night as the two were returning from dinner.
Babar stated that their vehicle was intercepted by unidentified men using two cars, including a green Vigo and a white vehicle, around 10:40 PM.
The case has been registered under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to kidnapping with the intent to confine a person unlawfully.
