A meeting of the cabinet of Niaz Adabi Sangar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a representative provincial literary organization named after renowned scholar, intellectual, poet, literary guide, and educationist Professor Jahanzeb Niaz (Tamgha-e-Husn-e-Karkardagi), was held at Niaz House, DHA Peshawar. The meeting was chaired by Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed, while Fareedun Khan performed the duties of moderator.
Patron of the Sangar, Dr. Kazim Niaz, joined the meeting online from Washington. Other participants included Chairman Professor Aseer Mangal, Dr. Alam Yousafz ai, Abdul Sattar Khan, Zubair Khan, Jamshed Ali Khan, Hameed-ur-Rehman Nadaan, Sadiq Amanzai, Qaiser Ali Shah Qaiser Kakakhel, Shamal Niaz, and Amjad Ali Khadim.
According to the agenda, a comprehensive review was conducted of the colorful literary evening titled “Rangarang Mazigaray,” held on February 6, 2026, at Dabgari Bazaar, Shah Qabool, Peshawar, in honor of noted columnist, playwright, progressive poet, writer, and intellectual Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed, who also heads the arts wing of the Sangar. The event was declared one of the successful programs in the of Niaz Adabi Sangar’s literary activities.
Subsequently, detailed discussions were held regarding organizing a unique and high-standard literary event in honor of distinguished writer, poet, fiction writer, and researcher Dr. Salma Shaheen (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz). Committees were formed for this purpose. It was unanimously decided that preparations would be completed soon, and once international conditions become favorable, a final date for the event will be announced.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Patron Dr. Kazim Niaz stated that Dr. Salma Shaheen is not only a distinguished poet, writer, fiction author, researcher, and intellectual, but has also rendered valuable services for the promotion of Pashto language, literature, and culture as a professor and former Director of the Pashto Academy, University of Peshawar. He affirmed that Niaz Adabi Sangar will uphold its tradition of organizing quality literary programs by hosting a befitting and prestigious event in her honor.
