A protest gathering of all parties Sayasi Ittehad (political alliance), district Khyber was held in Landi Kotal bazaar on Sunday against blasphemy of the Holy Quran in Norway and unfairness being done to locals by the National Logistic Cell (NLC) in Torkham.
Large numbers of various political parties and general masses while holding black flags and placards inscribed with slogans in their favor participated in the moot.
Addressing on the occasion speakers including district chief of Pakistan People Party(PPP)Hazrat Wali Afridi,president Landi Kotal press club Khalil Jibran,president Tanzeem-e-Nawjawanan-e-Qabail Molana Hazratullah,Israr Shinwari,Muhammad Saeed of Jamiat ullema-e-Islam,Fazalrehman(JUI-F),chief of Khyber Youth Forum(KYF)Amir Afridi,Khyber district president of Pasban Tayyab Khalil,Aftab Shinwari and others categorically condemned the sacrilegious act in Norway and said that the Muslim Ummah should unanimously formulate a comprehensive strategy to stop such kind of action.
They said that NLC was in progress of its policy to hold all trading activities at Torkham border and officials of NLC had started granting jobs to their relatives by sacking locals of the NLC jobs in Torkham that was injustice to them.
The speakers expressed their dissatisfaction over the post-prevailed condition of the merged districts and said on the name merging they had been deceived and all promises made with them just proved false ones.
They also criticized the Parliamentarians of Khyber for their unnoticed attitude towards miseries of the locals.
The participants disapproved 2019 merged districts minerals Act, passed by the provincial assembly and said instead of seizing minerals in ex-tribal belt; provide all basic rights to the dwellers of the area adding the government first resume power supply to the Landi Kotal Bazaar then initiate install electricity meters.
They threatened that if their grievances were not address in early hours, they would organize set in in front of provincial and national assemblies.
