Supreme Court (SC) has been moved for stopping implementation of army act and official secret amendment bills.
A petition has been filed by advocate Zulfiqar Bhutta in SC.
The petitioner while making the president Arif Alvi statement his plea has prayed the court to stop implementation of army act and official secret amendment bills.
The petitioner has taken the plea that president says he has not approved both amendment bills. Following this statement by the president a crisis like situation has been created in the country.
It is said in the petition possibility is there legal proceedings will not sustain under amended bills. There is likelihood that all the accused under these bills will be acquitted. The suspicious legislation runs contrary to article 4 of the constitution.
The petitioner has prayed the court to direct federal government to seek guidance from SC within 10 days besides suspending the implementation of army act and official secret amendment bills till the decision of the court.
It is pertinent to mention here President Arif Alvi while contradicting the report of signing of official secret amendment bill and Pakistan army amendment bill by him had said on Sunday “ I have differences with these laws. I had asked the staff to return the bills but they did not comply with it.
A day before President Arif Alvi had written a letter to Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah principal secretary to Prime Minister demanding that his principal secretary Waqar Ahmad be removed and Humaira Ahmad be made his principal secretary.
President had said he needs services of Waqar Ahmad no more. These services are handed over to establishment division forthwith.
