LAHORE
Supreme Court (SC) practice and Procedure Act -2023 has been challenged in SC Lahore Registry. The local counsel Shahid Rana has filed petition in SC Lahore registry. He has taken plea that right to appeal in suo motu notice is not possible without making amendment in constitution. The petitioner further said constitution of benches in SC is administrative powers of Chief Justice of Pakistan. The present act is tantamount to curb the powers of SC. He requested the court to declare SC practice and procedure act-2023 null and void.
