SC seeks proposals from KP government on magistracy system

Supreme Court (SC) has summoned proposals from KP government on magistracy system in the case pertaining to restoration of magistracy system.

The case came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial here Wednesday.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court during the hearing of the case that federal government proposals have been received on the matter.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) told the court that proposals from the provinces are must for making final decision.

Counsel for Balochistan government took the plea magistracy system should be restored with judicial powers.

CJP Umar Ata Bandial remarked what is justification of giving judicial powers to the magistrate. 3 provinces have agreed on restoration of full magistracy system.

The court while ordering KP government to file proposals regarding magistracy system adjourned the hearing of the case for one month.
