Frontier Corps North, in collaboration with international NGOs, conducted a social engagement campaign in the Shalman area of Khyber district. The aim of the campaign was to provide assistance to the needy families residing in border villages, including Gohar, Gulab, Samsai and Shinpook.
As part of the campaign, the Frontier Corps North distributed bedding and new clothes to 150 families in the aforementioned villages. Each set of bedding and clothes included male and female shawls, quilts, pillows, shawls for boys & girls, caps, gloves, socks, children’s sweaters for boys & girls and bedsheets.
In addition to the distribution of bedding and new clothes, the Frontier Corps North also provided high-quality hybrid seeds of cucumber, bitter gourd and hybrid tomato to the farmers to enable them to cultivate crops that are more resilient and productive, which in turn will help to improve their livelihoods.
Locals appreciated the efforts of the Frontier Corps North and said that “ it’s a commendable effort to alleviate the suffering of the underprivileged families in the border villages of Shalman. We hope that such initiatives will continue in the future and make a positive impact on the lives of the people in these communities”.
