Senate body held review meeting on uplift projects

A review meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms was held under the chairmanship of Senator Dr Asad Ashraf at the Parliament House on Thursday.
The meeting reviewed progress on Quetta-DG Khan Road, issuance of energy funds, funds for water resources and Wapda and construction of small dams in Baluchistan. The committee was informed, during the meeting, that Quetta-DG Khan Road was 520 kilometer-long. It was further informed that four development projects have been completed. The committee was further informed that ADB had launch three development project, and of which one has been completed. The committee was also informed that the 67 kilometer long Muslim Bagh Road has also been completed.
Member committee Talah Mehmood said that 15 kilometers Kachlak-Quetta Northern Bypass project has also been completed. Initial estimated cost of the project was Rs6671 million. However, the PC-1 of the project was later completed with the cast of Rs19,140 million with the support of USAID.
The committee was informed that one kilometer project was completed with the cast of Rs180 million. Senator Usman Kakar said the construction work on Muslim Bagh-Killa Saifullah Road is in progress.
