Shafi Jan visits Peshawar Safe City Command Centre

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan visited the Command and Control Centre of the Safe City Project at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, where he was briefed on the project’s operations and capabilities.
Accompanied by Secretary Information Matiullah Khan, the special assistant was given a detailed briefing by police officials on the wireless control system, crisis management system, and other operational units.
Officials informed the delegation that the Peshawar Safe City Project has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs2 billion. Under the initiative, 711 modern surveillance cameras have been installed at 133 key and sensitive locations across the city.
The officials informed the CM aide that the command and Control Centre functions as a centralized hub, integrating surveillance, data analytics, and emergency response on a unified platform.
The delegation was further briefed on ongoing efforts to introduce an e-challan system aimed at improving traffic management and ensuring effective enforcement of traffic laws.
Speaking on the occasion, Shafi Jan said the Safe City Project was a modern, technology-driven and integrated security system that will play a vital role in maintaining law and order in Peshawar. He added that the initiative would significantly enhance police capacity and help in effective crime prevention.
He further stated that Safe City projects in Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat were nearing completion, which will strengthen the province-wide security framework.
Shafi Jan emphasized that the provincial government is taking practical steps to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for citizens, adding that initiatives like the Safe City Project mark significant progress in line with modern urban security requirements.
