SHC summons all accused in Murtaza Bhutto murder case on Oct 01

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned on October 01 all the accused in Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case. According to report the appeal filed by Noor Muhammad domestic servant of Mir Murtaza Bhutto and government challenging the acquittal of the accused persons came up for hearing before the court. It was said in the petition that former police officer Wajid Durrani is indisposed and he cannot appear in the court. Counsel for Shoaib Saddal requested for exemption from attendance , The court granted exemption for one day each to Shoaib Saddal and Wajid Durrani. Ibrahim Saif ud Din advocate counsel for the petitioner while opposing applications said this case is pending hearing since long which may be completed soon. The court has ordered all the accused to appear before it on October 1. It may be mentioned Murtaza Bhutto was killed in alleged police encounter on September 20, 1996. Two cases were registered with reference to this incident. Trial court acquitted the accused.
